How Rediscover Forgotten Gems works

A suggestion from your own library

PTK picks a place you already saved instead of searching the whole internet for an unrelated recommendation. It can prioritize places marked Want to Go and use the saved details to explain the suggestion.

Explore at your pace

Filter by city, open the saved place, ask for another suggestion, or hide one you are not interested in seeing for a while. The goal is to give your older saves another chance.

You control suggestions

Hide the section for the day or turn rediscovery suggestions off in Settings. The rediscovery feature does not require continuous background location tracking.

Get started in PTK

  1. Save places you might want to visit again.
  2. Open Rediscover Forgotten Gems in My Places.
  3. Review a suggestion, view the original place card or ask for another.

Suggestions are drawn from your own saved records, so they become more useful as you build a collection.

Common questions

Does PTK recommend places I previously saved?

Yes. Rediscover Forgotten Gems resurfaces a place from your own library, with optional city filtering and an explanation of the selection.

Can I turn rediscovery suggestions off?

Yes. You can hide individual suggestions for a period, hide the section for the day, or manage suggestions in Settings.
